The Co-op’s nearly 1,500 students aren’t the only ones who stand to benefit from the program, says Gerry Hughes, director of the Institute for Co-operative Education.
Alumni can leverage student talent to bolster their respective organizations.
“We’re asking grads to accept the challenge to better their alma mater,” says Hughes. “Our Co-op program is growing and we’re looking for grads to refer internships to us.”
The Co-op’s students span the university’s four faculties. Internship opportunities, mainly in the Montreal area, exist for business, engineering, even fine arts students.
“Growth of the Co-op has been vertical and horizontal,” says Hughes. “We’ve developed existing opportunities and added non-traditional opportunities in the Arts and Sciences.”
