Dear members of the Concordia community,

Our university is profoundly saddened by the devastation that has beset Fort McMurray.

Concern for Albertans is pronounced across the country. We are championing their cause with the universal belief that the people of Fort McMurray will rebuild and prevail. Across Canada we have seen an outpouring of support. I hope those affected can take strength from the goodwill shown by others.

Concordia has over 40 alumni in the Fort McMurray area. We wish them fortitude, courage — and more than anything — safety to them and their loved ones from this region during this difficult time.
