Antoine Tetreault, BComm 13, is among this year’s competitors tearing around the country in the fourth season of The Amazing Race Canada. The CTV show kicks off June 28, 2016, at 8 p.m.

Alongside his father, Stéphane Tetreault, the John Molson School of Business graduate will be pushed to his limits as he explores stunning destinations all across Canada — and possibly beyond its borders.

After kicking off in the Northwest Territories, 10 teams will vie for the Season 4 title and a prize package that includes $250,000, a Chevrolet vehicle and hotel accommodations for two for a trip around the world. Last year, Sabrina Mercuri, BA 05, and Concordia student Nic La Monaca teamed up on The Amazing Race Canada’s third season.

Luckily, Antoine Tetreault is no stranger to international travel. “I always save up my vacation time so that I can take three weeks off each year to travel overseas,” he says. Tetreault is an operations manager for Groupe LRM, which operates senior residences in and around Montreal.

“I try to go as far and to as many different places as possible.”

Countries in Tetreault’s extensive travelogue include India, Turkey and Vietnam. “I like to be on the go,” he adds.

Tetreault credits the student exchange he did in Auckland, New Zealand, during his undergraduate degree as the “turning point” in his travels. “That’s when I really got my passion for travelling!”

During the semester away, he hopped from New Zealand to Australia and Fiji.

Yet being an experienced traveller is not all it takes to succeed on The Amazing Race Canada. “It’s such a crazy race, you can’t really prepare for it,” Tetreault says.

“Having a good partner is the most important thing. My dad and I were good at motivating each other.”

He’s excited to watch this season unfold from the other side of the camera. “They film you literally all the time, so you have no idea what’s going to be shown on TV,” says Tetreault.

“But I’m excited for my family and friends to see it. I think we represented ourselves very well and that they will be extremely proud of what we accomplished together.”
