“It’s the spirit of the event that keeps me coming back every year,” says Lisa Williamson, an administrative clerk with IITS and a 15-year veteran of the tournament. She started going with her mother, Sandra Whitney, who also worked at Concordia at the time, and hasn’t missed a tournament since.
“There’s a true spirit of camaraderie that I really enjoy. We all volunteer our time and work together to put on a fun event for the Concordia community,” says Williamson, who is now a member of the organizing committee.
The tournament is great way to meet fellow Concordians. The popular event attracts a friendly crowd of more than 150 people annually, including faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university. All levels are welcome.
“Because it’s the 25th anniversary, we’re going above and beyond this year,” says Williamson. “We want to create a big bang, so there are some surprises in store!”
