Future and current master’s students: Apply by December 1 for federal graduate scholarships
The federally funded scholarships award $17,500 over one year to eligible students who demonstrate a high standard of academic achievement.
To apply, students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or Protected Persons, and must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher in their last two years of study.
Students must be enrolled in, have applied for, or will apply for full-time admission to an eligible master’s program at a Canadian institution. Students currently enrolled in a master's program cannot have completed more than one year of full-time master’s studies by December 31.
Only master’s programs with a significant research component are eligible for scholarships. Most course-based programs are not eligible.
Students can apply by filling out an online application to one of Canada’s three federal granting agencies (CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC) before December 1 at 8 p.m.
For more information, visit the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s program webpage.
For questions regarding deadlines and eligibility, email the graduate awards office.
Students are invited to attend a GradProSkills workshop on October 27 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to learn more about the application process.
