The Science Captured Prize competition is organized by the School of Graduate Studies to allow students to showcase their research through a vibrant image (a photograph) for a chance to win one of four prizes valued at $250 each.

The competition accepts images of research in the fields of the natural sciences and engineering, social sciences and humanities, or health sciences. However, images from the arts, including visual arts, media arts, and research/creation are excluded.

Eligibility

  • Postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students and master's students currently enrolled at Concordia at the time of the application.
  • Each applicant can submit only one image to the competition.
  • At the time of application, students must be in good academic standing (not applicable to postdoctoral fellows)

How to apply

The deadline to submit an application is January 30, 2024 (11:59 p.m. ET).

Remember:

  • Applicants must be the creator of the image, own all rights to the image and obtain permission of any people appearing in the image, if applicable.
  • The submitted image should clearly relate to the applicant's research and can be enhanced or modified. Changes, including colorization and graphic processing, are allowed but should not misrepresent or change the original meaning of the image.
  • Consider also submitting your research photo to NSERC’s Science Exposed competition for the chance to win $2,000.
