The Concordia Stand-Out Graduate Research Award seeks to acknowledge two exceptional research projects and the Concordia students that made them possible. There is one award to recognize a project in the “Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences” and another for projects in “Engineering, Naturals Sciences, and Health”. Please note that applications to this award require proof that you have also applied to the relevant Relève étoile Award in your area.
Objectives
Recognize the exceptional research contributions of Concordia students (Master's, doctoral), and the project they recently completed in any research area. Please note that while postdoctoral fellows should still be encouraged to send applications to the Relève étoile program, they are not eligible for the Stand-Out awards.
Eligibility
Applications based on projects released to the public after August 12, 2023 are eligible to apply, which is the same eligibility window as the Relève étoile Awards program. The project must be in the form of an article (in a journal with an editorial review board), a book or book chapter, a patent, a creation, or a performance of which the applicant is the author. Oral presentations and posters are not eligible. This is also limited to one application per student per competition, and a given project may be submitted only once.
Award value
$1,000, as well as an overview of the recipient's work (article, book or chapter, patent creation or performance) and a photo of the recipient will be featured by Concordia.
An additional $500 will be awarded, should the applicant also receive a Relève étoile Award for the same work.
