Apply for the Canada-China Scholars’ Exchange Program to study in China
Want to learn Chinese, pursue your studies in China or do research at leading Chinese institutions? Apply for the Canada-China Scholars’ Exchange Program (CCSEP) by March 10.
Offered by Global Affairs Canada and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, CCSEP aims to foster deeper mutual understanding, build strong academic and professional ties between Canada and China, and develop future Canadian leaders with expertise and experience in China.
The program provides Canadian students, full-time teaching or research staff, and mid-career professionals the opportunity to pursue post-secondary studies, research or Chinese language training at leading institutions across China.
Candidates must be Canadian citizens to participate in the program.
The scholarship covers:
- cost of travel to and from the destination in China via the most cost-effective route
- tuition fees at participating Chinese institutions
- a monthly stipend (approximate values):
- 2,500 Yuan (approx. $490 CAD) for undergraduate students
- 3,000 Yuan (approx. $590 CAD) for master's students/general scholars
- 3,500 Yuan (approx. $685 CAD) for doctoral students/senior scholars
- on-campus accommodation or a subsidy for off-campus accommodation (if permitted by the host institution)
- comprehensive medical insurance.
The length of stays in China range from 1 month to 2 years.
The deadline to apply is March 10, 2025.
