Nura Jabagi, Concordia Public Scholar and PhD Candidate, will be travelling to Tallinn, Estonia to attend the 34th EGOS (European Group for Organisational Studies) Colloquium taking place from July 5th-7th. There, Nura will present her latest research focusing on the growing Gig-Economy and exploring the opportunity for organizations to leverage enterprise social media to overcome the unique HR challenges in managing transient and independent, virtual gig-workers.

A poster version of this research won 1st prize at the JMSB’s Annual Graduate Research Exposition (AGRE), making Nura the first student in the contest’s history to take first prize two years consecutively.

As first-author, Nura is honoured to present this work at EGOS on behalf of her fellow co-authors: Dr. Anne-Marie Croteau (Professor and Dean, JMSB), Dr. Luc Audebrand (Associate Professor, Université Laval), and Dr. Josianne Marsan (Professor, Université Laval).

For more on the Gig-Economy, check out Nura’s Op-Ed in the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business on Why relationships matter in the gig economy.
