Update 2: GM Bldg. Replacement of cooling towers

May 15, 2014
|
By Murray Brunt

This is a reminder to personnel in peripheral offices to keep their doors open to allow cool air to the central areas on the floors.   It can also be helpful to lower window shades.  We are trying to accommodate as best as possible the areas that are too hot, however please contact the service centre at 2400 for areas which are particularly warm and uncomfortable.

The chilling equipment under renovation is targeted to come into service by May 23 which will significantly improve the situation.  In the meantime we are implementing different strategies with fans, using our limited cooling capacity 24 hrs a day and also counting on today’s extreme heat to pass to more seasonable conditions.

We will keep you posted on any new developments.
