Update: GM Bldg. Replacement of cooling towers

May 15, 2014

By Claudie Boujaklian

The first phase for the replacement of the cooling towers in the GM building is now completed.  The new unit is supplying the peripheral offices and as such the core of the building is warmer.  We are asking the personnel occupying the peripheral offices to leave their office doors open so that the cool air can travel to the middle areas of the floor.

As we had mentioned in our previous e-mail the second phase should be completed by the end of next week.  Thereafter there will be an adjustment period  where occupants will notice temperature inconsistencies i.e. too cool in some areas and not cool enough in other areas.   Please call the Service Centre at extension 2400 as it is important that these areas are noted so proper adjustment can be performed.

We regret the inconvenience this may be causing you and we thank you for your understanding.
