Reminder: Energy Conservation Measures for the Holiday Period

December 8, 2014
|
By Claudie Boujaklian

In an effort to reduce unnecessary expenses, the following energy conservation measures will take effect starting Wednesday, December 24, 2014, until Sunday, January 4, 2015 inclusively:

a) All ventilation systems that are not absolutely essential will be turned off, except:

-      In the Hall Building where the ventilation systems will operate as per the normal weekend schedule, except for December 25 and January 1, when they will remain OFF both days;

-      EV, JMSB, Perform, Genomics, these building being self-responsive in terms of energy savings, they will automatically adapt to client occupation.

-      In the GM, the FB and in some rental properties where other continued normal commercial operations dictate less restrictive energy conservation measures;

b) Temperatures will be set back, except in the SP Building because laboratory experiments would be adversely affected;

c) All unnecessary lighting will be turned off.

  If you know or think that the above measures would or could create a serious problem in a particular area, you can either phone me at extension 3781, send a fax to 848-4530 or an email to stephan.drolet@concordia.ca in order to discuss your concerns, to arrange for a different schedule of operation, or to offer any further energy conservation suggestion you might have.

Please note that the Residences in the GN, JR, HA, HB & HC buildings will not be affected by the energy conservation measures.

Before leaving for the long Holiday, please make sure to turn off all unnecessary equipment in your office, shop or laboratory: computers and their peripherals, photocopiers, laboratory apparatus, etc., as well as the lights before closing the door.

hank you for your cooperation, and Happy Holidays!
