REVISED: SP Building: Interruption of the normal and emergency electrical power - February 01, 2025 - (06:00 - 17:00)

To the users and occupants of the SP building,

A planned interruption of the normal and emergency electrical power for the motor control centers AIS-CCM-1 and AIS-CCMU-1 located in the mechanical room SP-S130 is SCHEDULED on 2025-02-01 from 06:00 to 17:00. The main impact of this interruption on building users is the loss of water pressure on domestic & lab water systems (hot & cold) as well as the emergency shower & emergency eye wash water networks. The compressed air network will be offline in the labs located in block C of the SP building during this time. This interruption is required as part of project #22-004 (RF Replace Compressors).

General Information

• All water based lab activities and chemical experiments in the SP are prohibited.
• Washrooms from the 2nd to 6th floor will be inaccessible. Signage will be posted at the washrooms to redirect users to use those on the ground floor and basement levels.
• The compressed air network for the labs located in block C will be offline (see map below boxed in red). The rest of the network will not be affected.  
• All normal & emergency plugs in the labs and offices will not be affected.
• Ventilation systems in SP-S130, SP-S132 and the loading dock will be offline.
