The NDG Christmas Dinner lives on at Loyola

For over 35 years, the NDG Community Christmas Dinner has brought warmth, generosity, and holiday cheer to the residents of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, uniting residents on Christmas Day with a free festive meal, fostering a sense of joy and belonging.

This year, however, the NDG Community Christmas Dinner needed to find a new home to accommodate their event.

A change in venue with the help of Concordia

Rising to the occasion, Concordia’s Hospitality and Food Services teams offered the Buzz Dining Hall on Loyola Campus as the perfect venue for this community gathering.

“We’re incredibly proud to support this cherished tradition by providing the Buzz Dining Hall and kitchen facilities as the venue,” says Oliver De Volpi, manager of Food Services at Concordia.

Concordia’s Food Services, Hospitality, Campus Safety and Prevention Services, and Facilities Management teams will be on hand on Christmas Day to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Guests will enjoy Concordia’s signature Stinger’s Roast Coffee, generously donated by the Food Services team, adding a warm and inviting touch to their festive meal. The university has also invited the approximately 80 residence students staying on campus for the holidays, ensuring they have a joyful and welcoming place to celebrate the season with a traditional feast of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, vegetables, dessert, and beverages - all prepared with love and served at no cost to attendees.

The Spirit of Giving

The NDG Community Christmas Dinner is much more than a meal — it’s a celebration of community, compassion, and the true spirit of the holiday season. Each year, this heartwarming event is made possible through generous donations of turkeys, baked goods, and financial support, as well as the unwavering dedication of volunteers.

Organized entirely by volunteers and backed by the NDG Community Council, the dinner embodies the holiday spirit of giving and supporting neighbors in need.
