February 21: Concordia Emergency Notification System test
On Friday, February 21, at 10:00 a.m., Concordia’s Campus Safety and Prevention Services (CSPS) will conduct a routine test of the Concordia Alert System for Emergencies (CASE). This follows the last test conducted in January.
How the test will be conducted
The emergency alert will be sent through:
Desktop notifications on all computers located on both campuses and remote computers connected via VPN.
Please note: Laptops not connected to the Concordia network (through VPN) will not receive the alert.
Important details about the test
- If the initial test results are inconclusive, multiple tests may be conducted. This means some individuals may receive multiple alerts, while others may not receive any.
- No need to report missing alerts. CSPS will track test results directly through the system.
Why this test matters
The goal is to ensure the emergency notification system is fully operational and identify any areas for improvement, helping CSPS keep the Concordia community safe.
What to expect
No action is required during the test. The message you will see or hear is:
TEST TEST TEST – This is a TEST of Concordia’s emergency alert system. In an actual emergency, this message would include important instructions to help keep you and our community safe. NO ACTION IS REQUIRED. For more details on emergency procedures, visit concordia.ca/emergency.
