Call for Applications:  Advancing AI in the Public Sector

Concordia’s Applied AI Institute is pleased to announce the call for applications from graduate students, post-docs, and faculty specializing in research at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Public Administration. This is an opportunity to present your research in the form of a poster (guidelines will be provided) and network with your peers, industry professionals, and interdisciplinary researchers.

Topics of Interest:  

  • Ethical AI Governance. 

  • Digital Transformation. 

  • Regulatory Frameworks. 

  • Service Delivery Optimization. 

  • Partnerships and Collaboration.

  • Policy Development.

  • Data Privacy and Security.

  • AI Deployment

  • Public Engagement and Trust.

  • Workforce Impact. 

  • Equity and Inclusion.  

Application Guidelines: 

  • Open to graduate students pursuing Masters or PhD degrees, postdocs, faculty 

  • Submission of a 250-word abstract outlining your research. 

  • Application deadline has been extended to January 22nd 

  • Notification of acceptance will be issued by January 24th

Criteria for Acceptance:  

Relevance to the Theme: 

  • The research should clearly align with the topics of interest mentioned in the call, or other relevant research in public administration that could align with or benefit from AI application 

Quality of Research Abstract: 

  • The 250-word research abstract should be well-written, clear, and provide a comprehensive overview of the research, including its objectives, methods, and expected outcomes. 

Clarity of Communication: 

  • Applicants should exhibit effective communication skills and convey their research in a way that can be easily understood by a diverse audience, including industry professionals and scholars. 

Potential to Contribute: 

  • The selection committee may consider the potential for the applicant's research to make a meaningful contribution to the field of AI and Public Administration. 

Ethical Considerations: 

  • The proposed research and its applications should align with ethical guidelines and principles.
