About the authors
June Ying-Li Aldinucci is a nine year-old, problem-loving, piano-playing, grade four student at Etoile Filante in Montréal, where she was recently elected class co-president (with her friend Sarah); they ran on a platform of des jeux et du serieux.
Peter C. van Wyck is a researcher, writer, Professor of Communication Studies, and Director of the Media Studies graduate program in the Department of Communication Studies at Concordia University. He is an interdisciplinary scholar with an abiding interest in the theoretical and practical relations between culture, nature, environment, landscape, memory and ecological disaster. His most recent book, The Highway of the Atom (McGill-Queens University Press, 2010) – winner of the 2011 Gertrude J. Robinson book award from the Canadian Communication Association – is a theoretical and archival investigation concerning the material and cultural history of uranium production in the North of Canada. He is now working on a new book that addresses nuclear media, apology, justice and the future.
