How to enable pop-ups

The ability to enable pop-ups can be useful for websites that you know are safe. Some Concordia applications and webpages require that you enable pop-ups in your browser to complete certain functions.

Since some websites use pop-ups for advertising or other malicious activity, it is not suggested that you leave the pop-ups enabled for extended periods of time.

For pop-up enabling instructions, select a browser from the list below:

To enable pop-ups on Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

1. Select the tools button (a gear symbol on the top right-hand corner of the browser).
2. From the drop-down menu, select Internet options.
3. Choose the Privacy tab and uncheck the box next to Turn on pop-up blocker.

These instructions will allow pop-ups from all websites. For instructions on how to adjust settings for individual websites, visit the Microsoft support page.

To enable pop-ups on Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

1. Select the More actions button (a ... symbol at the top right-hand corner of your browser).
2. From the drop-down menu, select Settings.
3. Scroll down the list of options and choose Show advanced settings.
4. Switch Block pop-ups to Off

These instructions will allow pop-ups from all websites. For instructions on how to adjust individual settings on Microsoft Edge, visit the Microsoft support page.

To enable pop-ups on Mozilla Firefox, follow these steps:

1. Select the Menu button (3 horizontal lines on the top right-hand corner of the browser).
2. From the drop-down menu, select Options.
3. Choose the Content section from the left menu and uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows.

These instructions will allow pop-ups from all websites. For instructions on how to adjust settings for individual websites, visit the Mozilla Firefox support page.

To enable pop-ups on Google Chrome, follow these steps:

1. Select the Menu button (3 dots on the top right-hand corner of the browser).
2. From the drop-down menu, select Settings.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the window and select Show advanced settings.
4. Under the Privacy heading, click on the Content Settings button.
5. Under the Pop-ups section, select Allow all sites to show pop-ups.  

These instructions will allow pop-ups from all websites. For instructions on how to adjust settings for individual websites, visit the Google Chrome support page.

To enable pop-ups on Safari, follow these steps:

1. Select the Safari menu
2. From the drop-down menu, select Preferences.
3. Choose the Security tab and uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows.
