CONDOR on SharePoint Online

Records Management and Archives (RMA) has set up a SharePoint Service to host Concordia's Document Repository (CONDOR). CONDOR is the service hosted on SharePoint which provides common navigational structure, look, and feel, and search across associated sites to which you have access.

CONDOR provides employees with a safe and secure place to easily store, share and organize their electronic documents while work processes attached to these documents are automated. CONDOR, along with the Records Classification and Retention Plan (RCRP) standardizes the way Concordia faculty and staff organize, store, and share their electronic documents.

CONDOR’s other features include file security, versioning functionalities — which allow users to see who is currently modifying the latest version of a document — and an enhanced search engine that helps users locate documents in a timely manner.

CONDOR is an alternative to departmental drive and replaces eDOCS/Documentum/MDD.

FAQ

No. Concordia offers several services to save your documents: CONDOR and departmental drive. As they serve different needs, you decide which service you prefer to use. Should you need help to sort and reorganize your departmental drive, please contact RMA at records.management@concordia.ca.

Teams is a collaboration tool and should be used to collaborate and have discussions. CONDOR should be used to save, store, share, and keep documents

CONDOR is a SharePoint service, therefore you can access your content stored in CONDOR from any device (computer, phone, tablet) at any time, if you have an internet connexion.

CONDOR users get full support from the document management experts at RMA.

CONDOR has limited collaboration capabilities.

Teams should be primarily seen as a collaboration tool. It is recommended to use CONDOR to save final version and documents to share.

It is not recommended to save institutional documents on a third-party platform not supported by IITS such as Google Drive, Drop Box or Box. These solutions are easy targets for thieves and malicious individuals. RMA strongly recommends saving your documents in CONDOR to properly protect your information.

As CONDOR and departmental drive serve different needs, you can decide which service you would prefer to use. Should you need help to sort and reorganize your departmental drive, please contact RMA at records.management@concordia.ca.
