Finding Plays
Concordia Libraries subscribe to the Alexander Street Press Core Collections, which include full-text drama collections:
- Twentieth Century North American Drama, when complete, will contain the full text of 2,000 plays written from the late 1800s to the present by more than 300 playwrights from Canada and the United States, as well as some plays from non-North American playwrights.
- Includes Asian American Drama, Black Drama and North American Women's Drama.
LION contains about 350,000 literary works, including:
- English drama from 1280 to 1901.
- American drama from 1715 to 1900.
- Irish Drama from 1611 to 1914.
- Scottish drama from 1503 to 1916.
LION also includes all 38 plays in the Arkangel Shakespeare Audio Plays. Listed under Multimedia.
The International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance with full text (IBTD) provides references with abstracts for journal articles, books, book articles and dissertation on all aspects of theatre and performance in 126 countries from 1936 onward. IBTD features more than 140 fulltext journals and over 300 fulltext books. Includes the full text of the Canadian Theatre Review from 1997 onward.
EEBO is a full-text and full-image database of books printed in the British Isles, British America, and other countries from 1475 to 1700.
The full text is searchable for about 60,000 of the 125,000 books, identified by: TCP Full Text.
ECCO includes every significant English-language and foreign-language title printed in Great Britain during the eighteenth century, along with thousands of important works from the Americas. Concordia's holdings include Parts I and II.
NCCO is a digitized collection of primary sources from the 'long' nineteenth century, currently including the following archives: British Politics and Society; European Literature, 1790-1840: The Corvey Collection; Asia and the West: Diplomacy and Cultural Exchange; British Theatre, Music, and the Arts: High and Popular Culture.
InteLex Past Masters includes the Women Writers collection, which contains not only the correspondence and journals, but also the primary works (especially drama) of important women writers in the English Language.
Created by Alexander Street Press Theatre in Video, covers a wide range of 20th century theatre history, featuring original stage productions, captured and recorded while performed for a live theatre audience. When complete, Theatre in Video will contain more than 350 full-length plays and documentaries. Also includes all 37 videos in the BBC Television Shakespeare series.
Play Index provides citations and descriptive annotations to plays written or translated into English and published individually or in anthologies from 1949 to the present. Provides links to some full text plays available on the Internet. It contains citations to over 30,000 plays written from Antiquity to the present. Play Index does not contain citations to plays published in magazines or journals.

Inter-Play is an online index to plays in collections, anthologies, and periodicals in a variety of languages. Separately-published plays are not included. It contains approximately 19,000 citations to plays. The sources indexed range from the late 19th century to 2013, as it is no longer being updated.
