Scholarships and Internships
Short-Term Internship on Gambling - 2021-2022
Description
Concordia University’s Research Chair on Gambling, funded by the Fondation Mise sur toi, offers a short-term internship on one of the Chair’s research axis: (i) Gambling and social inequalities; (ii) gambling, digitalization & cyberspace. This award is seeking to encourage students and young researchers in the field of gambling under the aegis of the Research Chair specifically in its data analysis and production of publications.
Value and duration
The short-term internship can begin at any time during the year. The duration may be from 1 to 3 months, but award holders may re-apply. The value of the internship is set between $2,500-$5,000 according to the last degree obtained, internship’s duration and deliverables. It can be combined as a supplement to an award from any external granting agency.
Eligibility
Candidates must be registered full-time or have been admitted to an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree (in their last year) or to a graduate program (Master’s or Ph.D.). Postdoctoral fellows are also welcome to apply. Candidates must be supervised or co-supervised by a researcher affiliated to the Research Chair on Gambling. International candidates are responsible for obtaining the proper documents for their stay in Quebec.

- Letter of interest (2 pages) stating the reason for applying for a Scholarship at the Research Chair;
- Official transcripts;
- Curriculum vitae;
- Copy of the letter of acceptance to a program or proof of registration;
- Two reference letters.

Master's Scholarship on Gambling - 2021-2022
Description
Concordia University’s Research Chair on Gambling, funded by the FRQ-SC and the Fondation Mise-sur-toi, offers an annual Scholarship at the Master’s level. This award seeks to encourage graduate research in the field of gambling under the aegis of the Research Chair. The research must be focused one of the following thematic poles: (i) gambling and social inequalities; (ii) gambling, digitalization & cyberspace; (iii) responsible gambling, governance & prevention.
Value and duration
The Scholarship can begin in January, May, or September. Its duration is 12 months, but award holders may re-apply annually (for up to 24 months). The value of the Scholarship is $6,000 and can be combined with an award from any external granting agency.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree. Candidates must be full-time students who are either continuing their Master’s program or who have been admitted into a Master’s program. First year Master’s students will be given priority. Candidates must be supervised or co-supervised by a researcher affiliated to the Research Chair on Gambling. International candidates are responsible for obtaining the proper documents for their stay in Quebec.
