I recommend going on exchange because…
You'll come out of the experience as a more layered and experienced person. You will have so many stories to share with everyone back home. You will have friends all around the world who you can go to visit and who can come and visit you!
The scariest part of going on exchange was…
The first month adjusting to a different culture and routine was the scariest part of exchange. It takes time to develop a connection when it comes to meeting new people, especially if you are all alone in a new place. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut but once you feel comfortable again and can navigate this new life, everything falls into place.
The most unexpected part about exchange was…
Loving it as much as I did. I felt like this exchange made me reconnect with my childhood self. Being surrounded by so much nature really allows you to feel in touch with the earth and feel grounded. Also having a friend group in which everyone had completely different backgrounds, yet similar values so the connections are completely unique and real.
The coolest place I visited while on exchange was...
The little town of Lund. Although I visited many other countries and cities during my exchange, Lund is my favorite of them all. It is a cozy little town lined with colorful houses and there is always something going on. Whether it's the surrounding nature -- the beach, ravines, cows, sheep, botanical garden, the quarry, mountains, etc -- to the vibrant student life -- nation club nights, sittings, art night, live music at Ariman's -- you can always find yourself doing something new and exciting.
