Meet Alice Devaud

Hi! I’m Alice, a 4th year student in Political Science. As a French student who came to Montreal for my bachelor, I’ve always loved to move around and discover new places. I spent a semester in Sydney, Australia which were the most extraordinary 6 months. I highly recommend to challenge yourself by getting out of your comfort zone to live this incredible experience.

The coolest place I visited while on exchange was...

The cool thing about Australia is that it's affordable to travel around Asia from there. I visited Vietnam, Thailand, and also did a road trip along Australia's East Coast. These were some of the most incredible and culturally enriching experiences I’ve ever had.

A tip I would give to students applying for exchange is…

During an exchange, it’s like the first semester of uni all over again : everyone is in the same situation and is looking to make friends, so I insist don’t be afraid to reach out to people - you won’t loose anything, the worst that can happen is you won’t see them again.

I recommend going on exchange because...

Not to be cliché, but going on exchange really helps you grow as a person. You learn how to navigate in a new environment, discover new possibilities (professional, life plans, etc.) that you hadn’t considered before, acquire social skills, and become more independent… not to mention all the incredible friendships you will make, often outside your usual social circle.
