Meet Miguel Marcheterre-Pina

Hey I’m Miguel, a third year Art Education student. If I’m not studying or working you can most likely find me creating art; whether it be illustration, music (mostly metal \m/) or writing. I also like to keep active by going to the gym, cycling or bouldering!

I felt like I made a great decision to go on exchange when…

I told my bandmates about it and they were all really happy for me. I was fearing that they would be disappointed, but they were all very supportive.

Going on exchange challenged me because…

It can get pretty lonely but that forces you to take the initiative to get out of your comfort zone and get out of the house.

The biggest cultural shock I experienced was…

Vegemite…there are other ones too but to be honest I didn’t experience a massive culture shock. Australia is quite similar to Canada in many aspects.

I recommend going on exchange because…

It makes you a better person. You learn so much just by living abroad, and you will meet fantastic people from all over the world and make lifetime memories.
