Student Facilitators
Meet our 2023-2024 Student Facilitators who are leading the pods.
Colas Al Khoury
Hey all! I'm Colas and I came to Concordia to study Human Relations. I'm so excited to be part of Homeroom for another year. I've been in Homeroom since the beginning of my journey in university when I was a podee. This program helped me grow as a student and a facilitator and I can't wait to meet you and see how you all will grow from it too .
Karole-Ann Bessette
Hi everyone! This is my second year being part of Homeroom! I can’t wait to meet new faces and learn about new people! I study in art history and I’m obsessed with matcha and my cat! Can’t wait to meet all of you.
Sophie Durocher
Hi, I'm Sophie! I'm from a French Canadian town outside and North of Montreal, and I'll be hosting (for the first time) our French Pod this year. I'm so hyped to start as a SF again and see what amazing things will be scheduled for us. I'm a social introvert and laugh a lot, love learning languages, know quite a bit about Visual/Studio Arts. If you're a Disney fan, we'll get along and, if you're a gamer and know about Mario Bros. and/or Zelda, we're already friends!
Yordi Geremew Tadese
Hi! My name is Yordi. I'm a Sociology student who enjoys conversing about society, culture and more. First time as an SF and I’m looking forward to meeting and working with all of you. In my pod, we’ll be having a lot of group discussions to pick at each other's brains and get to know one another better. I enjoy boxing, baking, and artistic projects. Last semester, I was a participant in Homeroom and I enjoyed it greatly. I’m ready to add my personal touch to the pod and create a space for all Black students to feel welcome and comfortable.
Julia Gorrell
Hi y'all! I'm Julia and I am the SF for the Homeroom x FOFA pod! I'm in my 4th year of Painting and Drawing at Concordia and this is my 3rd year of being an SF with Homeroom. I absolutely LOVE all things art, reading, and cooking, so I'm totally down to trade recipes and book recommendations at any time.
Simon Hogue
Hi I’m Simon and I’m a 4th year history student! I was a podee two years ago and this will be my second year as a student facilitator. I love learning about military history, enjoy listening to podcasts and I’m a huge jeopardy fan. And during the summer I’m also an avid adapted sailor. I also consider myself a disability activist and strive to ensure the inclusion of disabled people in society. I’m looking forward to working with you all. Hope you have a great experience with Homeroom!
Zoe Marner
As a creative writing and theatre student, I love to talk all things performance and bring stories to life. In my free time, I podcast, pole dance, and watch stand-up comedy. In the Concordia community, I edit poetry for Soliloquies Anthology Literary Journal and facilitate fun activities with Homeroom. I'm always looking to hear and share funny stories.
Patrick Palmer-Bordeleau
Hey everyone! I am studying Civil Engineering and this is my 3rd year as a Student Facilitator for Homeroom. Working on the team of Homeroom allows me to share my vibes and energy with others, which i enjoy sharing. This semester when I need a breather from studying, I will be either walking around town or petting my cute cat, Luna.
Yeojin Park
Hello friends! I'm Yeojin. You may guess by my family name, Park. I flew from Korea to study mechanical engineering here at Concordia University. This is my last year of study, and I want to share all I know about school and programs, especially in perspectives of being a female engineering student. I'm very excited to meet all of you, and hope you are as well.
Rhea Sharma
Hey there! I'm Rhea, currently pursuing my master’s in information systems security. As an international student and first year SF, I'm thrilled to embark on this new journey. My passion lies in meeting new people and immersing myself in diverse cultures - it's amazing how much we can learn from each other! Outside of academics, you'll often find me exploring the world of coffee and games, a hobby that keeps me energized. I'm eager to create a welcoming and engaging environment in Homeroom, where we can all share our unique stories and experiences.
Catherine Star-Prenovost
Hi! I'm Catherine and I'm finishing up my Bachelors in Psych this year. I'm a Welcome Crew Mentor as well as a returning SF – my favourite thing about Concordia is getting to be involved in the amazing community here! I can't wait to get to know my podees and have lots of fun. Be ready to tell me all about your pets (and hear all about mine!).
Julia Spinney
Hi everyone! My name’s Julia. I’m in my third year of Computer Science, returning as a SF two years after being a podee. I have several hobbies like reading and fibre arts. Looking forward to meeting you all this semester!
Brian Tkatch
It's me, hi! I'm Brian, a third year Software Engineering student and second-time Homeroom SF. Originally from Vancouver, B.C., I love good food, a good time, and anything on the water. I'll be on a co-op internship term this fall, but hey, let's be friends: my pod is on the weekend!
