Hey there! I’m Kavya, an international student chasing my dreams (and occasionally my deadlines) in Aerospace Engineering. Now in my third year, I’m still fascinated by how tiny equations can explain something as infinite as the sky. When I’m not lost in the world of numbers and stars, you’ll probably find me dancing — because honestly, there’s no emotion that can’t be expressed through a good rhythm. I’m also a passionate foodie with a soft spot for pizza, desi Indian food, tostadas, and the undeniable legend of pastas — tortellini. I love writing poems, stories, and shayaris — turning feelings into words and words into little pieces of art. My weekends usually revolve around comfort shows (obviously Modern Family), family calls, kitchen experiments, and spontaneous dinner parties that always last longer than planned.

The one thing I wish I had known back in my first term is… that learning isn’t just about lectures and labs — it’s all about balance. Sleep, healthy food, and time with friends matter just as much as grades. Also… never underestimate the power of a nap — it can save your sanity during midterms!

A tip I have for new students is… academic advisors and professors are here to help you, so don’t be afraid to ask them any questions. Use time management workshops and handouts to plan your days before midterm and finals. Almost everything you need is at your fingertips, so go out, explore, and have fun!!

My favourite part of being a Concordia student is… that Concordia provides almost every service or help a student needs, whether it be the Student Success Centre, ISO, MFSC, HOJO, Le Gym, People’s Potato, volunteering, career planning, Health Services, talking to a counsellor, advocacy and so much more.

Moreover, Concordia has people from various countries, cultures, ages, achievements, and yet we are all still one. Reminds me of a quote: ‘Unity in Diversity’.
