Key info about the event
A Pow Wow is an intertribal gathering that celebrates Indigenous cultures. The OSC Pow Wow will have traditional song and dance, as well as local Indigenous vendors that you can purchase from. Our Pow Wow is a family-friendly event, warmly welcoming guests of all ages. Admission is completely free.
Regalia, not costumes
Regalia are cherished and significant traditional attire, and we ask that they be referred to as such rather than as costumes. Please don’t touch the performers’ regalia, feathers, and drums as they are considered sacred items. Thank you for respecting this important aspect of our culture.
Taking photos
Guests are free to take photos except while Elders are speaking, during the opening and closing thanksgiving addresses, and during prayers. Don’t worry, the MC will announce the period when photos are forbidden. If you are ever unsure, just ask!
Pets
We’re happy to welcome your pets! For everyone's enjoyment and safety, please keep them on a leash, clean up after them, and ensure they stay clear of the dancers and drums.
In case of rain
Our Pow Wow is a rain-or-shine event, so we’ll be celebrating regardless of the weather! If it does rain, we have some sheltered space available under the tent for spectators.
