AS-levels: Four AS-level exams required. You may apply with your grades from the last two years of study (include iGCSE/GCSE/O-level results, if taken). Include predicted or final AS-level results, as available.

GCSEs or equivalent: Must have one year of higher education at an accredited institution after completing iGCSEs, GCSEs or O-levels, such as a pre-degree diploma from a university. Include your final GCSE (or equivalent) exam results and your higher education grades to date when you apply.

Include grades from the last two years of study and BTEC progress grades or final results, as available. If taken, include any other exam results: A-level, AS-level or iGCSE/GCSE/O-level.

Course requirements
Students applying to programs with math or science requirements may be admissible without A-level exams in these subjects, based on AS-level or GCSE (or equivalent) exam results. Students should include all their exam results from GCSE (or equivalent) onwards to support their application.

Please note that the above-mentioned are minimum qualifications required and do not guarantee admission to a specific program. The university reserves the right to change admission requirements at any time.

English language proficiency

Regardless of your citizenship, if your primary language is not English, you may be required to write an English language proficiency test. See English language proficiency for more information.

Immigration and financial information

If you are not a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and you wish to pursue studies in the province of Quebec, then you may need to obtain study permits. This requirement depends on the length of your program. If your program lasts for a period of:

  • More than six months — you must obtain both a Certificat d'acceptation du Quebec (CAQ) and a Canadian Study Permit before you enter Canada.
  • Less than six months — you are not required to obtain a CAQ or Canadian Study Permit.
CAQ first. Study permit second.

You must obtain a CAQ from Immigration Quebec before Immigration Canada can issue you a Study Permit. It may take several months to obtain your Study Permit, so please start this process immediately after you receive an Offer of Admission from Concordia.

Refugees and refugee claimants

Convention Refugees, Refugee Claimants, and Protected Persons who have not yet obtained their Permanent Residency status in Canada are considered to be International students by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MEES).

They are required to obtain a CAQ or Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) and a Study Permit.

How to obtain these documents

We will mail you information on how to obtain these documents with your Offer of Admission. You will also find it at the International Students Office.

You must arrange funding to attend Concordia before you leave for Canada. In fact, when you apply for the CAQ and the Canadian Study Permit, you will be required to present evidence of sufficient funds for tuition and living expenses. Please see Tuition and Fees for more information.

If you want to learn about the regulations related to International students working on or off campus, please contact the International Students Office.
