Bold Science: A student conference on multidisciplinary research

May 3 to 4, 2019

The Science College is pleased to announce its inaugural conference for undergraduate and CEGEP students. It is an opportunity for them to present their research findings, learn about other science disciplines, and improve their science communication skills.

Who can attend?

Any student who is either attending university or enrolled in CEGEP.

How much does it cost?

Attendance is free but registration is required.  A complimentary lunch is included and prizes will be awarded.

What will be happening?

On the evening of Friday, May 3rd, internationally renowned scientist and physician, Dr. Majid Fotuhi (Johns Hopkins University and NeuroGrow Fitness Centre) will be giving a public lecture at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall (attendance is free but registration is required).

On Saturday, May 4th, the student conference takes place. There will be an opportunity for senior undergraduate students to present their thesis research in a poster session.

There will be a workshop on presenting science effectively – with a particular emphasis on sustainability research.

There will be brief oral presentations by students (3 minute data talks) from what they learned in the workshops.

Prizes will be awarded for best posters and best talks.
