Your takeaways

This program is a great way to:

  • Enhance your professional communication.
  • Gain confidence in daily French interactions.
  • Integrate into the larger Montreal community.
  • Join a fun and interactive learning community.

This program is designed to equip you French language skills for success in Quebec's workplaces and communities. While it prepares you for these environments, please note that the program does not replace or guarantee success in the government of Quebec's “Certificat de sélection du Québec.”

If you're looking for a language assessment approved by the Quebec government, we provide both the Test de connaissance du français (TCF) for Quebec and Canada. Register for an upcoming test session.

Program courses

To obtain this certificate, students must complete Level 6 (CEFR 625).

Our approach

This program takes an integrative approach to language learning that is collaborative, experiential, student-centered and community-based. In short, you’ll learn by doing, sharing, exchanging and… living en français.

Placement and grading

  • Students entering the program must take a placement test to determine their proficiency level. These tests are scheduled upon registration.
  • A Certificate of Proficiency is awarded upon the successful completion (60%) of Level 6.
  • A Certificate of Proficiency with Distinction is awarded to students who achieve a minimum grade of 75% upon the completion of Level 6.

Who benefits most?

  • Corporate employees who want to communicate confidently and effectively in professional settings.
  • Concordia staff, faculty, and students aiming to build confidence in their French skills for professional and personal interactions.
  • Montrealers from anglicized or allophone communities who want to connect more deeply with the city’s culture and community.
  • Individuals looking to improve their job prospects by gaining French language proficiency.
