Lauren Small joined the federal public service in 1997 and has served in both science and international portfolios. She is currently senior manager of International Relations for the Canadian Space Agency.
Lauren has been instrumental in three major legislative projects, including the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, the Species at Risk Act and the Remote Sensing Space Systems Act.
Lauren sees her community as a priority. She performs on stage to raise funds for her local arts community and has participated in the Terry Fox Run for more than 17 years. She is a board member of the Montreal West Community Services Council, the Edinburgh Elementary Governing Board and founder of the Montreal West Diaper Drive in benefit of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Food Depot.
In 2012, she received the Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee Medal. In 2002, she was conferred the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award. Small recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Air and Space Law at McGill University.
