In this session, Katja Neves and Jochen Jaeger will discuss the crucial role of transdisciplinary research in addressing the current sustainability crises and the challenges that this type of research is facing.
Katja Neves is Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, a fellow of the Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability, and a member of the Loyola Sustainability Research Centre. Her research focused on the reinvention of botanic gardens as significant agents in the governance of biodiversity conservation and on socio-environmental transdisciplinarity.
Jochen Jaeger is Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, a fellow of the Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability, a member of the Loyola Sustainability Research Centre, and founder of the Climate Emergency Committee. His research focuses on road ecology, urban sprawl, environmental impact assessment, and novel concepts of problem-oriented transdisciplinary research.
