This talk will provide a conceptual overview of the unique characteristics of zines as a form of publishing and their role in movements of social and political resistance; against capitalist frameworks of commodification and accumulation and for the viability and sustainability of the commons. Examples, including my the speaker's own zine project Four Minutes to Midnight (2004-2014), will be discussed, followed by a zine-making workshop.
