Dr. Simon-Pierre Lacasse has a new publication:
The chapter, entitled "Jewish Support for Nationalist Movements in the Americas: A Comparative Re-Appraisal," is co-authored with Raanan Rein. In it, the authors draw from their respective research on Jewish perceptions of nationalist movements in Quebec and Argentina. They aim to nuance the commonly held idea that Jewish minorities were opposed to nationalist movements (aside from Zionism) throughout the Twentieth Century by focusing on Peronism in Argentina and the Quiet Revolution in Quebec.
The chapter is part of this volume: Promised Lands North and South: Jewish Canada and Jewish Argentina in Conversation. Leiden: Brill, 2024.
