Four Department of Philosophy Professors and Postdoctoral Fellows presented research papers at the 60th Meeting of the Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy (SPEP) in College Station, Texas, October 13 to 15, 2022.
Department Chair and Associate Professor Emilia Angelova presented a paper titled "Hegel and Traumatic Ground of the Universal History of Reason."
Professor Matthias Fritsch presented "Promising the World to the Other" on a panel focussed on Derrida’s seminars.
Postdoctoral Fellow Mérédith Laferté-Coutu presented a paper titled "A Sea of Suffering: The Ethical Limits to Self-Evidence in Husserl."
Postdoctoral Fellow Tano Posteraro presented a paper titled "Wasp Epistemology: Bergson and Fabre on Instinct and Sympathy."
Professor David Morris was also elected to the SPEP Executive.
