October 8 vandalism on Guy-De Maisonneuve building

- Around 11 pm on October 8, Campus Safety and Prevention Services (CSPS) stopped two masked individuals who were vandalizing the C statue at the corner of Guy and De Maisonneuve streets by gluing posters on it.
- As agents arrived, the two individuals tried to flee but were stopped again at the corner of MacKay and De Maisonneuve streets.
- The individuals refused to identify themselves and police were called.
- While waiting for the police, CSPS agents were surrounded by half a dozen people demanding the release of the two individuals and trying several times to physically intervene.
- The two individuals were eventually identified by police and released.
- The university will take appropriate actions against Code violations and/or criminal activities.
- Concordia will not tolerate vandalism or violence, in any form, on campus.
