#CUgratitude: Concordians, what are you thankful for?
It’s Thanksgiving season, and to celebrate we asked a few students, staff, faculty and alumni to tell us what they’re most grateful for at Concordia.
Now, we’re sharing their answers, to kick off the hashtag #CUgratitude.
This is a chance to thank that favourite university friend, colleague or teacher, or acknowledge a great campus service you use every day.
Is there a book from the library that steered your research in a whole new direction? Or a piece of lab equipment that changed everything?
Our goal is to engage you — our community — to share your gratitude for what’s great about this university.
So, what are you most thankful for? Let us know by tagging your answer with #CUgratitude.
And hey. Thanks for your help!
What you had to say
“I am most grateful to Concordia and John Molson School of Business as an employer for giving me an opportunity to grow and learn as a professional. Over the past eight years, I have worked with many talented and dedicated individuals. I am also most thankful for my team at Career Management Services. Their commitment to the success of our students, alumni and recruitment partners makes my work so rewarding.”
- Mai-Gee Hum
Director of Career Management Services for the John Molson School of Business (JMSB)
“The biggest thing for me is the opportunities I've had in terms of internships and clubs. I'm student president of the Concordia Institute of Aerospace Design and Innovation (CIADI) and a member of various clubs. I find I'm doing better because I'm more engaged. I have something to look forward to and a lot of students look to me as a leader.”
- Nathaniel Kennedy-Noble
Fourth-year student, Industrial Engineering
“Concordia is great because of who we include and not because of who we exclude. I am grateful for that. I am also grateful that we live in a world of ideas, both old and new, that empower members of our community to strive toward a fully self-determined life.”
- Benoit-Antoine Bacon
Provost and vice-president of Academic Affairs
“I am forever grateful for the double major in Journalism and English Literature I completed at Concordia, since my education has served as the bedrock for my career. Yet my biggest gratitude is for the awesome friends I made at this university. I am thankful for each one of them.”
- Sylvain-Jacques Desjardins
Director of communications for Advancement and Alumni Relations
“Thank you, Concordia, for over 30 years of inspiration. And thank you, School of Community and Public Affairs students for your incessant questioning of everything and keeping me on my toes! It has been, and continues to be, a joy to work with you all; and yes, a challenge as well. But that keeps me young!”
- Marguerite Mendell
Professor and Graduate Program director, School of Community and Public Affairs
Director, Karl Polanyi Institute of Political Economy
