This appointment involves leading a merger and reorientation of McGill's Office of the Budget and Office of Planning and Institutional Analysis in a new mandate that starts at that university on June 1, 2016.
Since his arrival at Concordia from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2001, Tucker served in a variety of capacities and oversaw a number of measures implemented to improve the university’s ability to respond to both student and institutional needs.
As executive director of the Institutional Planning Office, he developed the University’s first KIP document and was instrumental in the development of the FRIS (a 2012 CAUBO Quality and Productivity Award Winner) and enrolment projection models. He also worked as research coordinator at the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance where he oversaw a large-scale, international evaluation initiative.
In his role as associate vice-president of Student and Enrolment Services, Tucker worked with his directors to align student services to better support student needs. The new Birks Student Service Centre with its one-to-one service model and the Sexual Assault Resource Centre were both launched successfully under his purview.
Taking an interest in student health, he initiated Concordia’s participation in the National Collegiate Health Assessment, the results of which informed new directions in campus wellness. On the enrolment services front, he facilitated Concordia’s movement away from agent-based international recruitment to a highly successful in-house model.
Most recently, as associate vice-president of Registrarial Services and university registrar, he oversaw the launch of the new Student Information System (SIS) and has worked shoulder to shoulder with the Sustainment and Planning Team to resolve system issues and bring desired improvements into production.
In addition, he welcomed Concordia’s first manager of graduate recruitment as a result of key recruitment functions restructuring.
“Brad Tucker has been a steady hand at the helm of several complex strategic and operational initiatives we’ve undertaken over the past decade,” says Deputy Provost Lisa Ostiguy.
“We’ve introduced new practices and technological enhancements to provide solid support for the academic and personal growth of our students, as well as the professional functioning of our institution.”
