1. ALL THAT CONCORDIA JAZZ
Jazz Studies Faculty Ensembles | Oscar Peterson Concert Hall (7141 Sherbrooke St. W.), Loyola Campus | Friday, March 18, from 8 to 10 p.m.
Charles Ellison leads fellow jazz faculty members from Concordia in a memorable evening of spontaneous creation. Hear these experienced musicians play off one another. This is jazz at its finest.
Also, don't miss students from Concordia's Jazz Studies program playing at the Upstairs Jazz Bar and Grill (1254 MacKay) every Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. You'll hear everything from swing, to blues, to contemporary jazz and Latin music.

2. LEATHER LACE METAL GLASS

3. CINEMATIC VISIONS, FROM CHINA
China Now: Independent Visions Film Program | various venues around the city, including Concordia | until April 6
China Now is a travelling program of contemporary independent films from China. The festival, which kicked off at Concordia on March 11, is screening more than 20 films across the city, including at Concordia, McGill University and the Cinémathèque Québécoise.
The final Concordia screening event, organized by the Global Emergent Media Lab, is on Saturday, March 19, at 6 p.m. in the J. A. DeSève Cinema. It will feature director Xu Tong’s 2014 film Cut Out the Eyes.

TOHU’s mission is threefold: to secure Montreal’s place as an international circus arts capital, to help revitalize the Saint-Michel Environmental Complex and to contribute to the development of the surrounding neighbourhood.
Take a free, guided tour of where it all happens: the TOHU Pavilion, a LEED Gold Canada certified green building, which houses a circus performance space.

5. EXPLORE THE WRITER'S CRAFT
Meet writer Gilbert Turp | La Grande Bibliothèque | 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, and Tuesday, March 29
To mark the 10th anniversary of its opening, La Grande Bibliothèque invited Gilbert Turp to be its writer in residence. Discuss your own work or his work with the seasoned author, and learn about the library’s treasures with Turp as your guide.
Turp has written eight pieces for the stage and adapted or translated a dozen others from German and English, including pieces by Bertolt Brecht. In 2010, he published his first novel, Ne t’arrête pas (Leméac).
