3. Have an artsy Valentine’s Day
The Curtain Sweeps Down | Art exhibit | VOX Centre de l’image contemporaine | Opens February 14 at 6 p.m.
Toronto artist Erdem Taşdelen’s first solo exhibit in Montreal opens on Valentine’s Day. “The Curtain Sweeps Down” explores the story behind the Turkish novel Genç Kızlar (Young Girls). Through a combination of sound, photography, painting and text, Taşdelen explores how society mutes some voices and amplifies others.

From repulsion to attraction, Camille Durand Gauthier’s “Spectrum” revolves around puberty and its myriad representations and symbols. Gauthier, an interdisciplinary artist affiliated with Concordia’s Studio Arts, uses photography and fibres to explore what it means to come of age.
