Reading Week 2018: what's open, what's closed
No classes or other instructional activities occur at Concordia during Reading Week, which starts Monday, February 19, and ends with the university’s President’s Holiday on Friday, February 23.
Hall Building Closure
Due to ongoing renovation work, the Hall Building will be completely closed from 11:30 p.m. Thursday, February 22 until 3 p.m. Sunday, February 25. For safety reason during this time the building will remain inaccessible.
Concordia Library
- Concordia’s Vanier and Webster Libraries will be open with regular service hours during Reading Week and remain open for study only on Friday, February 23.
- The Grey Nuns Reading Room and group study rooms will be open with regular service during Reading Week, including February 23.
Concordia President’s Holiday: February 23
The university observes a holiday schedule on Friday, February 23.
Only staff, faculty and graduate students with appropriate Concordia-issued identification will have access to offices, studios and laboratories. Undergraduate students who need access will require a letter from their respective departments.

- Campus Retail Stores (both campuses)
- Heath Services (both campuses)
- Access Centre for Students with Disabilities (ACSD)
- Counselling & Psychological Services (CPS)

Other relevant information
Athletic Facilities
All athletic facilities including the Loyola Campus gymnasium, Stinger Dome, Ed Meagher Arena and Le Gym will remain open with regular operating hours for the duration of Reading Week.
Food and Beverage Services
- Except the Grey Nuns and Buzz Dining Halls, Food Service operations will be closed February 23.
- In the LB Café, Tim Horton’s will be open Monday, February 19 to Thursday, February 22 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Friday, February 23.
- In the SP Café, Tim Horton’s will be open February 19 to 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and closed February 23.
- All other Food Service locations will be closed during Reading Week.
Parking
- All parking sites will remain open for the duration of Reading Week.
Shuttle bus
- The shuttle bus will be on a reduced schedule from Monday, February 19, to Thursday, February 22. There will be no shuttle service on Friday, February 23.
Tunnel access
- Tunnels on the Sir George Williams Campus will remain open according to the regular weekend schedule however; access to the Hall Building will remain closed.
