Easter weekend: what’s open, what’s closed
No classes or other instructional activities will occur during the Easter break, which includes Friday, March 30, and Monday, April 2.
Buildings will remain open over the weekend and access will be granted with a valid Concordia ID.
Building access on Sir George Williams Campus will be restricted to the Bishop St. entrance for the Hall Building (H), the Mackay St. entrance for the J.W. McConnell Building (LB), the Ste. Catherine St. entrance for the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV) and the De Maisonneuve St. entrance for the John Molson Building (MB).
On Loyola Campus, building access will be granted via the Richard J. Renaud Science Complex (SP). The PERFORM Centre's conditioning floor will also be closed from Friday, March 30 to Sunday, April 1, and open on Monday, April 2, 2018.
Are you planning on working on campus over the long weekend?
Be aware that only staff, faculty and graduate students with appropriate Concordia-issued identification will have access to offices, studios and laboratories during the 2018 Easter holiday break.
Undergraduate students who need access will require a letter from their department.
If you do decide to work on campus outside normal hours of operation, please remember that while university buildings are monitored and access will be restricted, Concordia’s Security Team cannot be everywhere at all times.
We encourage you to remain alert and mindful of your surroundings.

SIS upgrade
Concordia’s Student Information System (SIS) will be temporarily unavailable from 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 2, due to a planned system upgrade.
Athletic facilities
Le Centre (Loyola Campus) is open on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1, 7 a.m.-10:30 p.m., and closed on Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2.
Le Gym (Sir George Williams Campus) will be open Saturday, March 31, 8 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday, April 1, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. It will be closed Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2.
The Ed Meagher Arena (Loyola Campus) will be closed from Friday, March 30, to Monday, April 2, including the weekend.
Libraries
The R. Howard Webster and Georges P. Vanier libraries will be open for study only.
The Grey Nuns Reading Room will be open as follows:
- Friday, March 30, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Sunday, April 1, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Monday April 2, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Food and beverage services
The Grey Nuns Dining Hall and the Buzz Dining Hall will remain open for their regular business hours. All other Food Services locations will be closed.
Parking
Parking in LB will be closed on Sunday only.
Loyola parking will be open.
Faubourg Building (FB) parking will be open.
Tunnel access
Tunnels on the Sir George Williams Campus will remain closed, except for on Saturday, March 31.
Loyola laneway closure (April 3 to April 30)
Please note that due to an ongoing project beside the Loyola Jesuit Hall and Conference Centre (RF) Building, a portion of the laneway behind Loyola that services the campus from West Broadway Street will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, April 3 to Monday, April 30.
The project, which will see the insertion of a new concrete slab behind the SP building, is being undertaken at this time to ensure that work in the vicinity is complete prior to the start of construction on the new Applied Science Hub.
During this time period the Jesuit parking lot (P2) will remain accessible via the lane way. To access the Terrebonne parking lot (P5) a new entrance will be temporarily opened off Terrebonne Street.
