MAY 21: What’s open, what’s closed at Concordia
No classes or other instructional activities will occur on Quebec Patriots’ Day (Monday, May 21) during the May long weekend.
All main buildings on Sir George Williams Campus — including the Hall Building (H), the J.W. McConnell Building (LB), the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV) and the John Molson Building (MB) will remain open as per regular weekend operations.
A campus-wide electrical shutdown will take place on Monday, May 21, on the Loyola Campus for eight hours — between 4 a.m. and 12 p.m. — in all buildings on the north and south side of Sherbrooke Street. During this time, all building systems, lab equipment, office equipment and wall outlets connected to regular electrical power will be shut down. Emergency power will remain unaffected. For safety reasons access to these buildings will not be granted during this time except to project personnel.
The following services will be closed on May 21:
- Campus retail stores
- Health services
- Campus wellness and support services
- Access Centre for Students with Disabilities
- Counselling
- Shuttle buses
Athletic facilities
- The PERFORM Centre (Loyola Campus) will be closed Monday, May 21. The AT clinic will also be closed.
- Le Gym (Sir George Williams Campus) will remain open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 21.
- The Ed Meagher Arena (Loyola Campus) is closed from April 23 to June 24 for yearly maintenance. The arena’s summer session runs from June 25 to August 15.
Libraries
- The R. Howard Webster and Vanier Libraries will be closed from Sunday, May 20 at 9 p.m. to Tuesday, May 22 at 9 a.m.
- The Grey Nuns Reading Room and Group Study Rooms are closed for the summer.
Food and beverage services
- All retail food services locations will be closed.
Parking
- Parking in the J.W. McConnell Building (LB) will be closed.
- Loyola parking will be open.
- Faubourg parking will be open.
Tunnel access
Tunnels on the Sir George Williams Campus will be open as per the regular weekend schedule.
