Student finds lessons in Concordia's online transition

The arrival of COVID-19 rapidly changed how Concordia students completed their studies during the winter term. Within the span of a few weeks, thousands of students moved from lecture halls and labs to home study and online platforms.

Beck Osterland, BA 20 was completing his undergraduate degree in the Human Environment program at the time. "It was definitely tough," he says.

"But the learning that came from implementing our skills outside the lab was hugely beneficial."

The need to quarantine has also affected workforces across the globe. Osterland says this may be a silver lining for students undertaking online course delivery. 
 
“COVID is going to change the way we work”, he notes. “I think this whole experience with online learning will definitely be beneficial in the future.”
