Concordia partners with MTL Connect — a hybrid conference for digital leaders

The fourth edition of MTL connect is unfolding this October and Concordians are poised to make a strong appearance.
The international event centred on digital transformation will take place in a hybrid format featuring themes ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) to culture and creativity to the future of the city and more.
Main organizers Printemps numérique have invited at least 200 speakers over nine days and expect 10,000 attendees from across 80 countries to participate.
Members of the Concordia community feature in 10 sessions in this year’s program, largely as part of the professional stream taking place October 18 to 21.
Anne Whitelaw, Concordia’s provost and vice-president, academic, will be presenting on a panel about the future of education and work. Her co-panelists are Isabelle Collet, Manuelle Alix-Surprenant, Ayumi Moore and Hélène Jouan.
Harley Smart, BFA 10, is a Concordia grad who co-founded the art book publisher Anteism in 2004 — a project that has since expanded into a gallery space. Smart will be presenting a workshop on augmented creativity with foundation models.
Adjunct professor Pamela Tudge will deliver a keynote with Cheryl Bryce called “Decolonizing Place: Reinstating Indigenous (Eco)Systems and Sovereignty.” Tudge is a food scholar who teaches in the Faculty of Fine Arts and is pursuing a PhD in the INDI program.
Co-director of Concordia’s Applied AI Institute Tristan Glatard will be offering a workshop on the challenges and opportunities in applied AI training with Sherry Blok, director of programs for Concordia Continuing Education.
And Jeremy Clark will take part in a panel presentation on solving current challenges in cybersecurity. Clark is an associate professor at the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering and will share the stage with three other experts in the field.
