In the corner of a room there is a table set with party food and drinks. Above it is a streamer with Happy Birthday on it. To the left of the table, above two folded chairs that are leaning against the wall is a calendar. Under the table are ballons, a red cooler and a gift bag. To the right of the table sit two chairs with rainbow streamers draped over them. “Let’s eat!!!,” Installation, 2023
An overhead view of a red tray with two paper plates on it. The larger plate holds white rice, stew and potatoes; the smaller holds turon: ripened bananas are wrapped in spring roll wrappers. Also on the tray are a can of Coca-Cola, a fork and spoon on a white napkin and a small plastic container with a red pepper in it. “Adobo Please with A Side of Turon,” Photography, 2024
In the corner of a spare gallery space, a screen is set with an image of a tropical island scene. Multi-colored flowers are strewn across the floor below it. To the right of the screen a red and black baseball bat lies on the ground. A plant holder hangs from the ceiling and a clock with an illuminated face hangs on the wall to the right of it. In the foreground there is a camera on a tripod. “Celebration, Ritual, Filipino Party,” Installation, 2023
The bottom half of this vertical photo is green grass stretching up towards a shoreline where three small figures stand under an umbrella. The water is grey-blue and beyond it are mountains in the background, almost the same colour as the water. Clouds hang in the sky and take up the other hal of the photo. “Bicol, Philippines,” Photography, 2024
