Through photography, video and performance, Korean-born Yoon explores themes of tourism, militarism and colonialism. Her work has been exhibited internationally for more than 30 years. She is based in Vancouver, B.C., and is a professor of visual art at Simon Fraser University.
Yoon received the prestigious Scotiabank Photography Award in 2022 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2018. She holds an MFA from Concordia as well as a BA from the University of British Columbia and a BFA from what is now known as the Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
