As president and CEO of Fronsac Real Estate Investment Trust, Jason Parravano is responsible for managing a portfolio of more than $100 million in commercial real estate.
A chartered professional accountant by training, he won the 2018 CPA Emergence Award from the CPAs of Montreal.
To stay at the top of his game through the accolades and success, Jason keeps one piece of advice in mind: “Remain disciplined and don’t make emotional decisions.”
Proudest professional moment
“I was named CFO of Fronsac when I was in my late 20s. To be one of the youngest C-suite executives among the TSX venture-listed companies in Canada was a highlight. About a year later, I was named CEO.”
Biggest challenge
“Being the youngest person in a room among other executives, partners and associates. It has taken time to earn the same level of confidence as I have given others. Now that I’ve been around for a while, I have a track record, so people have started to look past it.”
Career lessons
“Montreal is a small world. Everybody knows everybody. The most important thing is to be honest and true to your work. What goes around comes around and we all need good karma in this business.”
The Concordia advantage
“The professors were great because a lot them were actually working in the field at the same time. They could bring that real, everyday experience to the table and teach you something beyond what’s in the books.
