Concordia University’s School of Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexandre Champagne as the new associate dean, Academic Programs and Student Services, effective September 3, 2024.
Since joining the university in 2008, Champagne has made significant contributions as a professor and Chair of the Department of Physics. His extensive experience, coupled with his deep institutional knowledge and familiarity with the PERFORM Centre, will be invaluable as he takes on this new leadership role.
“We are delighted to welcome Alexandre to the School of Health in this capacity,” says Véronique Pepin, interim dean of the School of Health. “His demonstrated leadership and collaborative approach will be key in driving curriculum innovation and enhancing our academic programs.”
As associate dean, Champagne will play a pivotal role in supporting the School’s vision through the promotion and facilitation of hands-on training, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities. His leadership is expected to further the School’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic environment.
“I look forward to serving and supporting our community of health researchers and educators in developing courses and programs that go beyond what is currently possible,” says Champagne.
“For instance, integrating teaching and research more deeply and including internships in PhD programs. My aim is to build positive and energizing momentum within our community by driving rapid and regular progress in our program development.”
Beyond his focus on academic programs, Champagne is also committed to enhancing the overall experience for students and faculty alike.
“I hope to generate pragmatic ideas to free up some of our members' time and add fun to their work experience.”
