EDI action plan
The Equity Office plays a lead role in ensuring an equitable and inclusive environment for members of Concordia’s community through the implementation of the recommendations from the final report of the Working Group on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, released in November 2020.
The final report is the culmination of a two-year process in which the working group summarized its consultations with Concordians and created a framework for a coordinated EDI strategy across the university and 115 recommendations to build our commitment to EDI.
Framework for a coordinated EDI strategy
The working group recommendations are organized into three pillars that addresses six areas of discrimination and harassment reported by members of our community during the consultations.

- recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce;
- supporting inclusive teaching, learning and research;
- fostering an equitable, diverse and inclusive campus.

The six areas of discrimination are:
- gender
- race
- ethnicity
- disability
- sexual orientation
- religion
Guiding principles
The guiding principles for a coordinated EDI strategy are:
- mutual respect
- fair access
- collective responsibility
- coordinated action
- continuous improvement
